Given To Fly

Hi there reader.

Hey,

Uh........not much to say really.  I am busy as usual.  Perhaps if I were to slow down, I would be able to remember what it is that happened to me, and I could write about it.  BUT.....really, can't now. 

So I will do a generic thing by different areas of my life.

WORK- Busy, I met with some clients yesterday, my first trip out on my own.  I think it was pretty successful.  I have my first review this week, thursday.  I hope it goes well.  I have only been here since October, but I am still having one anyway.  The learning curve here has been great, but I am getting there.

LOVE- My gf and I are very much in love.  I think that we have reached that point in a relationship where it requires work.  How do I know that?  Well, I think we had our first argument a few days ago.  It wasn't bad, but it was a disagreement nevertheless.  It was the first time that I have taken the time to note when the first argument took place.  Well I guess since my very first serious relationship.  In that one we went well over a year until we had our first argument.  In any event, I think that we have been through enough crap in the past relationships we have had to work past things at the present.

SELF- I am taking care of myself here lately.  About a month ago, I didn't like the way that my belly was starting to bounce when I hit a bump in the road while driving.  So I have been working out like a freak, again....it goes in phases.  I need to keep it up this time, as my belly no longer bounces, and I am getting definition in some good places.  Spiritual wise, I am still leading my Bible study, and that is going very well.  Have on average 7-8 people each week.  Good results as well, one girl, Kelsey was very undecided if she wanted to go through confirmation, that is until one week of my study, and it completely changed her mind, she is going now, and her parents say the study had a lot to do with it.  Made me feel pretty good. 

VACATION- After waiting nearly three hours on line to purchase tickets to a Red Sox game for my upcoming vacation to Boston, I finally got through.  However by the time I got through, I could only buy standing room only tickets as all of the side by side seats were sold out.  The good news is there are still some tickets out there, the Right Field Roof Box seats and the Monster Seats.  I am going to try like hell to get seats in those sections as I am not thrilled to have to buy tickets from some a-hole scalper.

There was a time in my life where I had this totaly unhealthy crush on Liz.  Now I have the greatest amount of respect for her.  She is a Mom, still damned hot, but she stuck with the music and it seems that it is paying off.  Lots of her fans claim that she has sold out, and just a puppet of the label.  I think that she is a rock star godess.  I have been a fan of hers for the better part of 11 years now, and I think that she just keeps getting better and better.

Alright, let me try this again....

I tried to write yesterday but thing about trying to blog while at work, you get distracted with work......geeeeesh!!!  The next thing you know it is time to go home, this happened to me yesterday.

This is what I wanted to write yesterday.  When you work in an office you get tons of people to come into your office, trying to sell you stuff.  Yesterday this guy walked in, totally ignoring the sign that we have out on our front door that says "No Soliciting".  He looked as if he was a roadie, a guitar tech, yeah someone like that.  Granted I used to have this look going for me at one time, but since I had to go corporate, well, that look is no longer.  So he was selling paintings decor, etc.......just some back ground information, I work at a place where we sell GIS software, thus we have maps galore all over the place....really no room for anything else.  Here is the conversation that we had with this guy.....although it was pretty much him and I talking...

Dude - Hey, uh, just wanted to let you know that we sell paintings.  We decorated the office next door, have you ever seen this artist.

Me - Nope, who is that?

Dude - Well this is a new artist William blah, blah blah.

Me - Cool

Dude - Yeah, so what kind of decore are you guys into here?

Me - Maps.  Look around.

Dude - OH.....oh yeah....uh....well....do you need anything for your home?

Me - Actually I have maps at home too, but I can't speak for everyone else.

Everyone else - holding back laughter.

Dude - Well, uh, ok....uh, do you know if any of your family needs decor?

Me - walked away, because this is the world's worst salesman....he needs to stick with being the guitar tech for that band that always says "we are so close, we keep playing for record label reps, but some day...some day...you will be able to buy our band shirt at spencers or hot topic."

Because it's all about goals.
